Domain sales report: October 2026

Printed financial charts with a pen

Domain.News compiled the list and published it on 4 November as an image headed “Top 20 Domain Name Sales in October 2026”. Ties stretch its 20 ranks to 27 rows, with a cut-off of $77,000. We checked each row against NameBio’s daily reports, DNJournal’s charts and Robbie’s Blog. Every total, median and share below is our own arithmetic, not a Domain.News or NameBio figure.

October’s finding: five .coms worth $7.3 million

The top five are all .com and, by our sums, total $7,300,000. Clarity.com went privately for $3.5 million to Clarity, the platform formerly known as Hiive, whose founder and CEO Sim Desai acknowledged the deal. TradingCards.com followed at $2,000,000 through Afternic, then Nor.com at $700,000 through Atom.com, Tick.com at $600,000 through Sedo and Daytona.com at $500,000 in a private sale. The other 22 rows together come to $3,130,000. The median sale is $150,000 and the mean $386,296, a gap that shows how far two deals pull the average. Domain.News’s verdict: “traditional .com domains remain robust; they not only swept the top five positions”. For where these names sit in the year, see the top domain sales of 2026 tracker.

DNJournal’s 2026 year-to-date top 100 chart lists 20 of these 27 sales with matching prices. It runs through 18 October, and its report for the last two weeks of the month was not out when we checked. Jiudian.com at $77,000 appears in neither NameBio nor DNJournal, so treat it as reported by Domain.News only. Decided.com’s $100,000 price is confirmed, but its venue is not settled.

October week by week

Domain.News’s weekly lists keep cheaper sales. Our sums of each are below. Together the four weeks come to $12,970,945 across 104 rows, more than the monthly list because that keeps only rows of $77,000 or more.

WeekRowsTop saleTotal (our sum)
5–11 Oct30act.ai, $375,000, Spaceship.com$2,803,784
12–18 Oct24clarity.com, $3,500,000, private$6,984,624
19–25 Oct30daytona.com, $500,000, private$1,806,462
26 Oct–1 Nov20tick.com, $600,000, Sedo$1,376,075

Two cautions. The last week runs into November: holzhandel.com at $27,930 was logged on 1 November. And logging dates are not closing dates. The seven Spaceship .ai names and decided.com were released on 5 October, and DNJournal describes the Spaceship entries as “a release of sales made over several weeks”. Domain.News reported that Daytona.com’s purchase was announced on 28 September, and Robbie’s Blog noted that TradingCards.com’s registry record last changed on 29 September. The weekly reports for 12–18 October, 19–25 October and 26 October – 1 November go deeper.

Extension mix and venue share

By our count, .com has 10 rows worth $8,001,000, or 76.7% of the list’s value. .ai has 12 rows worth $1,663,000 (15.9%). Liquid.org, dimension.io, wellness.net, asi.inc and compute.xyz account for one row each. DNJournal called Liquid.org “the biggest non .com gTLD sale of the year to date”. For the .ai names, see recent .ai domain sales and our .ai domain guide.

There is no .si on the October list, despite steady .si activity on the weekly lists. The best .si sale in NameBio’s October reports was Staffing.si at $50,000, below the $77,000 cut-off.

On venues, Spaceship.com has 13 of the 27 rows (48%) but $1,767,000 of the value (16.9%). It handled 11 of the 12 .ai sales, and seven of its 13 came from the 5 October release. Domain.News put it this way: “Spaceship.com emerged as the clear winner, accounting for the vast majority of .ai domain sales on the list.” The money went elsewhere. Clarity.com alone is 33.6% of the total, Afternic’s three sales come to $2,350,000 (22.5%) and Atom.com’s four to $1,300,000 (12.5%). Grouping Clarity.com, Daytona.com and Clipster.com as private sales gives $4,100,000, or 39.3%.

October against September

Domain.News’s September list had 21 rows, a $40,000 cut-off and mogul.com at $1,300,000 on top. By our sums it totals $3,062,706, so the October list totals about 3.4 times September’s. That is not a measure of market growth: the lists differ in length and cut-off, and October’s lowest row, at $77,000, would have ranked 10th in September. The mix changed too. September had one .ai row, jev.ai at $44,995; October has 12.

A broader view comes from adding up NameBio’s daily reports, which is our sum, not a NameBio figure. October had 26,133 sales of $100 or more totalling $28,102,885, against 26,241 sales and $21,994,896 in September: 27.8% more in dollars on a similar count. Clarity.com is not in NameBio’s dailies. Its busiest October day was 15 October, at $3,353,336, when TradingCards.com and Nor.com were logged. For new gTLDs only, TLD Investors, using NameBio data, reported that October sales “came in at $1.2M same as the previous month”.

How to read a domain name sales report

Method A monthly list is a compiler’s selection of publicly reported sales. Domain.News built this one, and its dates are logging dates, so “reported in October” is safer than “sold in October”. NameBio logs sales daily, DNJournal charts them every two weeks and keeps a year-to-date top 100. For a “Sedo domain sales report”, Sedo’s newsroom carries no October sales report; its data publication is the annual Global Domain Report. Sedo does post weekly public sales lists, which TheDomains republishes. To trace one name’s past sales, see domain sales history.

Most domains never sell for anything like these prices. The free Domain Age Checker shows registration date and true age for up to 20 domains, with a flag for names that were dropped and re-registered. To sell an aged name, list it on the SERPHeroes Domain Marketplace. Listing is free, and a flat 10% commission is taken if it sells.

Frequently asked questions

What was the biggest domain sale of October 2026?

Clarity.com at $3.5 million, a private deal logged on 16 October.

Did all 27 of these domains sell in October?

No. They were reported in October. The 5 October Spaceship release covered sales made over several weeks, and Daytona.com’s purchase was announced on 28 September.

Is there an official Sedo domain sales report for October?

We found none. Sedo publishes an annual Global Domain Report and weekly public sales lists. Its one sale on Domain.News’s October list is Tick.com at $600,000.

Did the domain market grow in October?

The top-20 lists cannot say, because their lengths and cut-offs differ. Our sum of NameBio’s daily reports shows 27.8% more value than September on a similar number of sales.

The takeaway October’s reported sales were top-heavy: two .coms made up more than half the list’s value, while .ai and Spaceship.com supplied the most rows, much of it from one 5 October release.
